    Description

    These CRTs were used early in WW2. Radar was still new. The pilot had radar in the cockpit. I’ve seen on eBay the equipment this would fit into. Radar was also on the ground. In coordination radar showed 2 blips. Then the hostile aircraft could be pinpointed and closed in on.
    The metal sheath had two purposes. One to shield the tube from any interference and to mount the crt tube in radar equipment. This metal sheathing has been bent badly at the small end see pictures. It is marked navy the other two are not. One is etched 2862.
    On last picture you see the red material I took pictures on through the big end. The green screen is bombarded with electrons that make a picture. In this case a little moving dot. The technology used for old televisions.
