Extremely RARE 1956 PURE OIL Signs And Designs For Progress Book. I have one of the most rare items I have ever come across for Oil and Gas Collectors. This is an authentic 1956 PURE OIL Signs and Designs For Progress book that was only sent to owners of franchises never released or available to the public so these are ultra-rare and hard to find. I have only seen one other example of this book on the collectors market. Very few even exist as far as I know and this one is in really good condition. This booklet has 31 pages and is fully illustrated in color! It measures roughly 11 1/4" x 8 1/2".  This would make an amazing reference book for any collectors out there as it has pictures of everything that was approved advertising for Pure Service stations from 1956 on. It also shows older sign equipped stations, like a before and after example. This would also make an amazing addition to display with your old advertising signs, Gas Pumps, etc. The book is in good condition but does have general wear associated with an item of this age but only on the cover (The inner pages are crisp and white) but no missing pages tears or staining to speak of. There is some light writing on the inside cover and again on page five, simply making notes on what the franchise owner wanted. The books chapters are: Introduction to Designs for the future, the Bold new Look in Color, Examples of Modernization, Building Letters and Striping, Curb Pole Signs, Sign poles, Neon Arrows, Building and Roof Signs, Border Signing and Fencing, Special use signs, Lead-in Signs, Road signs, and Truck Stop Signs. All of the pictures are
amazing pieces of art and full pages that show vintage cars getting gas, Signs, Buildings, Gas Pumps, etc. The book also explains every single thing that is approved for design and signage and shows before and after renderings so this would be good reference for older advertising as well. The book also gives you dimensions and how things were designed to be displayed and used and why they made these changes.
It would look great in your home Vintage Automobile collection. Overall a Rare Cool piece of old automobilia!
