Box (10) - 1945 Kopp Glass AN 3098-2 WWII Recognition Light Lens New Old Stock

This is an unopened box of (10), “Downward Recognition Light, Kopp Glass, AN 3098-2, R17-C-41269” stamped with the date Aug. 13, 1945, issued to the US Navy.  Other research found that these are used on assembly AN 3096-5 (Lockheed Aircraft Corp.).  The (10) lenses are each individually wrapped in tissue and the lot of (10) are wrapped, as a whole, in paper.  Each lens is a deep red in color and measures about 3.442” diameter.  There is a lip, full circumference, probably to secure in place in housing.  The catalog number “AN3098-2 is in embossed on one side.  The picture shown is a mirror image of the actual part so that you can read it.  It is actually legible from the other side when it’s backlit.  The box itself is in excellent condition, albeit a little dusty.  This is a very unique find, especially in a sealed box.  The photos I have included are from a box that I had opened to check out its contents.  This listing is for a sealed box of (10) only, similar to the one shown, not the unwrapped ones in half of the photos.
